Lil Wayne has followed through with previous claims about his contract with Cash Money, and the rapper is suing Birdman for $51 million to get out of his deal.
The Louisiana-born rapper claims that Birdman and company have withheld millions from him during the delay of "The Carter V," and Wayne believes that it's enough to get him out of his contract. According to TMZ, Wayne was supposed to get an $8 million advance on the album and an additional $2 million after finishing the recording a year later.
In addition to the $51 million, Wayne is asking a judge to make him joint copyright owner of all Young Money recordings, including Drake and Nicki Minaj, and other YME artists. However, the rapper reported says if Birdman ponies up the $10 million Wayne feels he's owed, the YMCMB CEO can release "The Carter V," and there will be no lawsuit. According to several reports, Universal is pressuring Birdman to settle the case.
Do you think the case will be settled before going to court?
