While Jay Z's star-studded TIDAL press conference may have boosted downloads and revenue during its initial launch, and despite him making personal calls to thank subscribers, the service now appears to be falling off a bit. Hov's latest business venture dropped out of the top 700 downloaded apps from The Apple Store while other music apps such as Pandora and Spotify are enjoying their placement within the top 10. Spotify in particular received a huge boost the day that TIDAL launched, suggesting that Hov simply gave the popular music service a spike in publicity rather than causing users to make the switch.
This comes just days after TIDAL let go of 25 employees and replaced its CEO. Do you think TIDAL has a future in the business?
