As the buzz around the sequel for ATL 2 quickly grows, the original film's lead actress doesn't want fans to get excited just yet.
In an interview with the YBF, the actress says the idea for a sequel to the 2006 film is just that. While photos circulated of the original cast meeting with the film's director Chris Robinson earlier this year, London says the film is still up in the air.
"It's not definitely in the works," she said. "I don't want to be the spokesperson for it. I don't want people take my word for it. So, no. Right now it is a concept and there's a lot of possibilities with that."
Her statements are polar opposite of actor Jason Weaver who was ecstatic to announce the news for the sequel on Twitter back in March. "So... I can finally announce..! ATL 2 is officially going down. @troubleman31, @albeback ,@jackielong and ya boi outchea putting this sequel together, led by our director @mrrobotodirector AKA "The General". The people want it, so we're doing it! #ATL2"
While London was reluctant to speak on the concept of the sequel, she did speak on her character New New and what she would like to change about the character if the film does happen.
"I feel like the character and all her aesthetics should remain important. Like her hair and her lipgloss, [etc.], I wouldn't want to lose that. Even though she does grow up, I think she should still be funky, fresh and spunky. I would keep that."
