After a decade-long wait, the Geto Boys announced yesterday (June 15) that they have reunited to work on their ninth studio album 'Habeas Corpus,' according to RollingStone.
Even though Rap-A-Lot Records was the previous home of the legendary group, the trio will rely upon the crowdfunding site, Kickstarter for their latest project. In order to get their fans engaged, Geto Boys are offering compelling incentives which range from autographs and T-Shirts to a golf outing with Scarface - you could possibly even receive a custom Geto Boys casket, which amounts to $10K. The fundraiser - which runs until July 15 - gives the group an opportunity to raise as much as $100,000 over its course.
"I'd like to take credit, but the fans really made it happen," Willie D expressed to his day one supporters. "It's hard to get all of us on the same page, 'cause everybody's always doing their own thing. We are three totally different people."
As with any other Hip-Hop group, there has been different issues that have caused tension within the Geto Boys. Willie D confessed that though they've reunited, there's still tension between Scarface, Bushwick Bill and himself, characterizing their relationship as "volatile."
"We fu**in' hate each other, man," Willie tells the publication before adding, "The Geto Boys, man, we're that family that can't stand each other, but love each other. That's us. Family's family, man."
