The next installment of Complex's popular series, "Magnum Opus" rap vets and industry insiders breakdown the creation on one of the most beloved tracks of the golden age of Hip Hop--Gang Starr's "Mass Appeal."

In the 17-minute video, Jadakiss, Big Shug of Gang Starr Foundation, and more speak on the group's magic. DJ Premier also shed light on the late Guru and how their separate backgrounds helped create the fan favorite tune. Premiere explains how the Guru dealt with the problems that fame brought them. While the group released critically acclaimed music, they never went on to sell in the millions, much like Run DMC, LL Cool J and Jay Z did at the time.

Despite their wanting for mainstream success, the group stuck to the their roots. Premier and others have kept the Gang Starr name alive after the death of Guru in 2010 from cancer.
