The death of Texas woman Sandra Bland, who was found hanged in her cell the morning after being put in custody for allegedly assaulting a cop during a traffic stop, is just the latest incident in a stream of recent ones involving the police and African Americans being highlighted over the last few months.
Outspoken TV personality Stephen A. Smith shared his thoughts on the latest incident in how it relates to the #BlackLivesMatter movement, demeaning it over the fact that there are still Blacks killing Blacks.
"Where is all the noise about #BlackLivesMatter when black folks are killing black folks?" he tweeted.
Brooklyn rapper Talib Kweli, known for his politically conscious bars, quickly responded to Smith's tweet with his own.
"@stephenasmith so I guess you show up at funerals and yell out "what's the big deal! Everyone dies!"
Check out the exchange up top, including input from actor Matt McGorry on the matter.
