DJ Yella sat down with us at VladTV and gave us some insight on his life pre-N.W.A. The Compton born and raised producer began to dabble in music at a young age - he was in the marching band in high school, and began DJ'ing soon after he left. He then began performing at teen parties where he met fellow N.W.A. member, Dr. Dre. "You see him, you see me, everywhere," DJ Yella remembers of their times together.
In this exclusive clip, DJ Yella also talks about his World Class Wreckin' Cru Days with Dre, more specifically their 80's shiny suits that he says "was for the women." He then goes on to talk about the transition from the Wreckin' Cru to N.W.A., and how they easily jumped right onto "the bigger ship." Catch it all above.
