Producer Jermaine Dupri revealed that he tried to sign Iggy Azalea several times in the past and told Wendy Williams that "She needs somebody like me in her life." Although, JD has worked with artists such as Mariah Carey and Destiny's Child, he revealed Azalea gave him the cold shoulder after several attempts.
"I tried to sign her from the beginning. I called her. I sent her a tweet. I think she thought I was trying to get at her because she is fine." He explained, "I sent a message and said 'yo, I like you, I think you're dope, I would love to sign you' ... She gave me the 'send my manager, hit my manager.'"
