In 2016, Cheap Trick, Steve Miller, Chicago and Deep Purple will join the countless other rock bands who have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Amongst them will be the infamous N.W.A., the fifth rap group to ever be recognized by the foundation.
The '16 inductees were announced earlier this morning while several others will be named at a later date. The Compton rap group comprised of the late Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, Arabian Prince and DJ Ren will be honored at the ceremony, expected to be sometime in April. This year the group reemerged with the popular biopic Straight Outta Compton, which raked in over $200 million since it's release on August 14.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame organization is currently organizing the ceremony for the inductees, expected to take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
