The day before Christmas Eve, hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters crowded the Mall of America as a demonstration to bring awareness to the police shooting of Jamar Clark. Minneapolis police were responding to an assault complaint and the 24-year-old man was fatally wounded by police.
Businesses at the mall, which houses 500 shops, shut down while protesters demonstrated shouted "What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? Now!" After leaving the mall, protesters quickly moved to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, which caused one of two terminals to be temporarily blocked.
