New York Knicks forward Cleanthony Early is recovering from a gunshot wound to his right knee after he was robbed this morning shortly after leaving a Queens strip club with his girlfriend. According to the NY Daily News, the 24-year-old rookie and his girlfriend left CityScapes gentlemen's in an Uber when three cars boxed their vehicle in about a mile from the club. The group of men—including two men with guns—wearing ski masks robbed him of his gold chains, iPhone six, gold caps on his teeth and cash before shooting him in his right knee.
Fortunately, Early was transported to Elmhurst hospital and his condition is reported as not life-threatening. The Knicks released a statement saying, "We are aware of what occurred with Cleanthony Early this morning and are relieved that he is not in a life-threatening situation," the team said. "We will not comment any further until we receive more information."
