A Good Times reunion movie could be taking place and with the help of fans of the sitcom, it could be "DYN-O-MITE."
A Kickstarter campaign has been started by the surviving original cast members of Norman Lear's hit 1970s sitcom. The cast—John Amos (father James Evans), Jimmie Walker (J.J.), Ralph Carter (Michael), Bern Nadette Stanis (Thelma), and Ja'Net Dubois (Willona)—as a collective have taken to Kickstarter in an effort to fund a reunion movie approximately 40 years after the sitcom debuted on CBS. According to the campaign video, the original movie will be a "docu-dramedy-comedy," and the cast will be doing it without the help of Sony or original producer Norman Lear.
The Good Times Movie has a goal of $1 Million and has raised a little over $4,000, with only 15 days remaining to reach their goal. "This project will only be funded if at least $1,000,000 is pledged by Fri, Mar 4 2016 12:11 AM EST."
You can contribute to the crowdfunding here. Listen to John Amos talk about the film feature in the VladTV interview above.
