Paul Gaston, 37, was shot and killed by police when he reached into his waistband to pull out an airsoft gun after crashing his truck into a telephone pole. Cincinnati police Chief Eliot Isaac revealed that they got a call from Gaston's girlfriend, who reported a "man out there waving a gun."
Once on the scene, officers asked Gaston to kneel down and put his hands where they could see them, but when he moved toward the ground his hand moved down toward his hip. Cell phone footage from the scene shows officers shouting at Gaston, "Woah, woah, where we can see 'em! Don't do it!" Police later fired nine shots at Gaston when he allegedly did not comply, killing him on the scene.
