Miko Grimes, the outspoken wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Brent Grimes blasted the Seattle Seahawks decision to lock arms during the National Anthem on 9/11 and believes the team is only doing it to counter Colin Kaepernick’s protest.
Grimes took to Twitter to air out the Seahawks who announced their plan yesterday. “I know this is gonna shock some ppl, but i hope the dolphins win 2moro bc of this display of cooning the seahawks players about to do,” she wrote. “We’re gonna lock arms and stand in unity for social justice and peace for all” BIG F**KING WHOOP!!! U guys are a bunch of pu**ies! Grimes didn’t stop there and said this wouldn't have happened if Kaerpernick never sat out the National Anthem. “I got no beef remembering the lives lost on 9/11. But they’re doing this to counter Kaep sitting. Had he not sat, they wouldn’t do this.”
The Seahawks announced the decision to lock arms during the National Anthem publicly in a video and explained the reasoning behind it. “We are a team comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds,” said receiver Doug Baldwin in the clip. “We honor those who have fought for the freedom we cherish. And we stand to ensure the riches of freedom and the security of justice for all people. Progress can and will be made only if we stand together.”
