Lil Wayne claims Birdman blew through a $70-million the two were supposed to share.
A $100-million advance was given to Cash Money by Universal, and Wayne was expected to get a significant cut of that money since he’s partners with Birdman for Young Money/Cash Money, according to TMZ. Instead of cutting his son a check, Birdman took the money and doled it out on advances, marketing expenses, and royalties. However, Weezy and his camp refuse to believe that story and are fighting to obtain some receipts for the activity.
TMZ also reported that Lil Wayne’s $51-million lawsuit is taking so long to process due to his lawyers having to sort through over 22,000 pages of documents given to them by Birdman and Cash Money. Wayne’s team also stated that there is no information on where the advance was spent on these pages. Lil Wayne and Birdman have been warring over money for quite some time now. Their battle has halted the release of Lil Wayne’s long-awaited “The Carter V” album. Birdman claims it is in possession of Weezy so he couldn’t release it even if he wanted to. Wayne refuses to give the album out for free so it looks like fans will not see it until their situation is sorted out.
