Brooklynite, Bobby Shmurda, was sentenced to 7 years in prison Wednesday [October 19]. The "Hot N****" rapper went from an internet sensation to a felon after pleading guilty to conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon charge in September. According to the FADER, his attorney, Alex Spiro said "his sentence of 7 years, with credit for 2 years already served and good time credit will hopefully permit him to be home in approximately 3 1⁄2 years and resume his remarkable career. This plea also covers a separate Bronx Indictment."
Without the plea deal, Shmurda could have gone to trial and faced 25-years to life prison. During the hearing, Shmurda wanted to withdraw the deal, but the judge denied his request. According to Bossip reporter, Jennifer Cunningham, Bobby had an outburst and stated "I was forced to take this plea. I do not want to take this plea."
Stay strong Bobby.
