Acting Attorney General Sally Yates was fired on Monday (January 30) after she went against his immigration order by telling Justice Department lawyers not to defend Trump's order. Dana Boente, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, has been chosen to take Yates' place, as Trump's appointee for Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, has not been approved by the Senate so far.
A statement from the White House press office claimed that Yates "has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States." They also added that she is an appointee of Obama "who is weak on borders and very weak on illegal immigration."
