Fans and spectators of music have seen Chris Brown at some difficult spaces in his life, and now an investigative report stemming from Billboard alleges that the singer has been suffering from addiction to drugs like molly, lean, and xanax.

The report features testimony from unnamed sources within his camp who have refused to reveal their names in fear of being kicked out of the circle. The report also notes that Brown has the bipolar II condition, and was not taking the drugs prescribed to him for the condition. According to members of his team, Brown broke a long 15-month long period of sobriety in April 2015 to heavily indulge in lean and xanax. Because of this, his moods would switch constantly which caused his team to have to be on alert at all times.

One member of Chris Brown's team described watching the singer "snorting cocaine, which he was turning to more frequently" at a Vanity Fair Italia shoot in 2016. The intro paragraph to the report points out that Brown would use lean as a "comedown" to a molly or coke binge, and that "styrofoam cups littered the table [in his house]."

Around the time of the launch of his One Hell Of A Nite Tour, Brown's tour manager Nancy Ghosh ended up quitting because the singer allegedly threatened to beat her up for asking his cousin to refrain from smoking weed on the manager's tour bus. When she sent an email out to TMZ, it stated that she did not feel safe at all around the singer because he was "irrational and high on drugs."

One former member of his crew gave candid commentary about Brown's status, saying, "You can talk to any drug addict or chemically imbalanced person -- it doesn’t just go away. It’s something you have to work on. You have to change your lifestyle. And he’s not doing the things he needs to do to get well, so he’s never going to be well. The kid is going to hit rock bottom.”
