Newly released dash cam video shows the moment an officer with the Tulsa Police Department ran over a gun-wielding woman who moments earlier had fired on officers.
Police released three videos Thursday from the March 18 confrontation with 21-year-old Madison Dickson. The video taken from the dash cam of the patrol car that ran Dickson down was edited prior to release to better highlight the fact that she was carrying a gun when she was struck.
27 seconds into the video, multiple gunshots can be heard as Dickson exchanges fire with police, while an officer can be heard telling dispatchers that shots have been fired.
Soon after, Dickson appears in the right side of the frame fleeing away from officers down a sidewalk. At the 54-second mark of the video, the dash cam captures Dickson being run over by an officer who had jumped the curb in his patrol vehicle.
In the week before the incident Dickson had been implicated in several gun-related crimes, including shooting a man in the head a couple of days before her death.
