On a rainy Chicago Thursday, March 30, four males on the South Side of Chicago were all shot and killed within four hours. A woman was also found dead with a gunshot wound to the head a mile away from the South Shore neighborhood as there were nine people in total shot since Thursday morning.
Police tell the Chicago Tribune that the four males were shot by an unidentified male attacker at 3:50 p.m. at a local restaurant on the 2700 block on East 75th Street. Reports say he shot and wounded two males inside the restaurant who eventually died. Afterward, a third victim was found dead near the area and the fourth male victim was in a nearby backyard on the 7500 block of South Coles Avenue.
The fourth victim appeared to be a young male student wearing Chicago Public School uniform khakis. Sadly, he was found slumped next to a tree.
"It is not OK, it is not OK when we lose a child like this," said an outraged woman at the scene.
Police also says that approximately one mile away, the body of a deceased 26-year-old woman named Patrice L. Calvin (pictured above) was discovered in a home in the 7500 block of South Luella Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Calvin was four months pregnant and was pronounced dead at 12:27 p.m, per the Cook County medical examiner's office.
