Kendrick Lamar's new song and video "Humble" is setting up fans for the release of his next album which many are excited about. However, there were some who took issue with what the rapper was saying in his single, specifically the commentary on women. Some women via social media accused the rapper of trying to put down certain types of women to uplift others with his bars. In the song, Kendrick said "I’m so f*cking sick and tired of the Photoshop/Show me something natural like afro on Richard Pryor/Show me something natural like ass with some stretch marks."

The lines in question made many women take to social media to question the rapper's motives behind the lines, even going as far as saying he is "shallow" and "harmful." One tweet said "Kendrick has a rather patronizing, shallow way of looking at situations relating to women. I wish could tell him about himself lol." Another tweet said "He neglects to voice any care for how women feel about their bodies and speaks on his own selfish sexual desires."

While the lines in question were used to point out his own preferences in terms of what he would like to see based on the constant social media vanity culture, many are arguing that there is a place for both types of displays of beauty. Do you agree?
