Female rapper Cuban Doll calls herself a mumble rapper and is proud of it. In the video above, Cuban Doll says she has one song with lyrics and comments that she "hates that lyrical song". When asked if her fan base wants mumble rap she agreed and added that she enjoys the freedom of releasing what she wants when she wants. She's a mumble rapper with no shame.
Hip-Hop is going through another transition. A lot of newer artist don't seem to be interested in bars. However, being a lyricist seems to put you in a higher tier. Will the next generation of rappers dismiss lyrics completely and only focus on melodies?
