A Russian airstrike "may have" killed Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the Russian defense ministry said. The strike apparently targeted a meeting of the ISIS military council in Raqqa.

There have been prior reports of Baghdadi's death, but this marks the first time Russia is claiming to have killed the ISIS leader.
