There is a Wendy's down in Texas that has been carrying out a public feud with a nearby coffee shop that has been garnering nationwide attention.
Hometown hero Kliff Kingsbury doesn't pay for a meal in Lubbock, Texas; not since taking over head coaching duties at Texas Tech a decade after establishing himself as a legendary quarterback at the school. Pure Water Ice and Tea Company made this fact loud and clear with a sign it recently propped up out front it's Frankford Ave. location. But what started out as a gesture of loyalty soon became the source of envy when the Wendy's across the street from the shop followed up on Pure Water's gesture with its own pitch to Kingsbury.
Wendy's retort would start a tit for tat that has dragged to the amusement of many. “Anything you can brew we can brew better. Try our Fruitea Chillers,” the fast food joint recently posted, which provoked a warning from Pure Water that read, “You better check yourself before you wreck yourself, Wendy’s!” Since then an epic competition has ensued.
