Rikers Island is on lockdown after an inmate escaped the main jail complex by apparently jumping the fence just before 9 p.m. Wednesday night.
The escaped inmate is said to be around the age of 24 and has dreadlocks. At the moment, the Q100-Ltd buses (the only city bus that services the island) are currently shutting down service on or off of Rikers due to the escapee. It is believed that he has not yet made it off the island.
