During a recent appearance on Sports Illustrated Now Jadakiss was asked his thoughts on Colin Kaepernick's fruitless free agency campaign and the question that has prevailed as to whether he is being effectively blackballed by NFL owners. The way the legendary Lox rapper sees it, while he is in solidarity with Kaepernick having taken a stance, bringing such a controversial public position to a private industry is a "double edged sword: you either play by the rules or you get what you get."
"With the whole Colin Kaepernick thing it's like a 50/50 to me because I'm with him totally, but he should have thought about the repercussions of, you know what I mean, not standing for the flag," Kiss said, during the show's "Top 5 Sport Topics" segment. "You know, he should have knew becoming an unrestricted free agent, or not taking the money, whatever San Francisco was offering, and then thinking he was going to be able to go out there and just get on a team. He should have knew it was going to be some repercussions."
Jadakiss is the latest in a string of public figures who've been willing to speak openly about where they stand on a Colin Kaepernick signing. In the past week alone such current players as Doug Baldwin and Derek Carr have suggested that they'd like to see him in the league, while retired players like Ray Lewis and Kordell Stewart have expressed interest in seeing him back on the field, but urge that he turn down his activist rhetoric in public.
