DMX received a tongue lashing and a heavy handed warning as the judge presiding over his tax evasion case confronted him for his irresponsible behavior while out on bail. However, he got to go home despite having failed several drug tests over the past month.

Judge Jed Rakoff had apparently had enough with the 46-year-old Yonkers rapper prior to his late arriving at a bail hearing at Manhattan Federal Court on Friday, August 11. It had been a mere one day since news got out that X recently broke the terms of his bond arrangement by leaving the state to visit family in St. Louis, and he was already sparing the rapper from having to pay some pretty serious repercussions for a different violation. According to Rakoff, DMX has tested positive for cocaine, marijuana, and opiates on four occasions in less than four weeks.

Attorney Murray Richman went to bat for his client, by reminding the judge that Simmons has a problem with substance abuse, but Rakoff reportedly wasn't having it, firing back, "It sounds like total self-denial." In response to the infraction, Rakoff ordered X to serve house arrest with an electronic bracelet on his ankle and warned that “it will be the end of his career and the end of living a decent life,” if the rapper jumps bail.

Before dismissing DMX, Judge Rakoff turned his focus solely on Richman, saying, ”The lesson he seems to have learned over the last few weeks is Murray Richman will always get him off."
