It is no secret Lonzo Ball is an incredible athlete. However, the Los Angeles Lakers rookie seems to have high goals for his musical abilities as well. In May, Ball released a freestyle over Drake's "Free Smoke," now he is looking for collaborators and at the top of his wishlist is 21 Savage.
During a photo for NBA rookies, Ball told Billboard that his itch to rap started when he was young. "Ever since I was a kid I've been rapping. You know, bumping DMX and 50 Cent in the car and stuff." Ball said. "It's always been there, but when I get bored, I write. One of my friends, he wants to be a rapper, so I figured I'd get on his track, give him some notice, and it definitely worked out."
The 19-year old point guard, who In July tweeted out that 21 Savage's "Issa" was better than Jay-Z's "4:44,", went on to solidify his musical judgment. "Jay-Z's a great, great artist," he said. "You know, his work speaks for itself, but if it's my opinion, you know, in today's world, I feel like 21 Savage's [album] is bumping more. So I just play that right now." When asked if he would be open to a collaboration with the Atlanta rapper, Ball said "I'm there! Without a doubt, I'm there,"
