In the rap game, women are often pitted against each other as if there can only be one who's very successful. For many years, Nicki Minaj was alone at the top with no other female rapper even coming close. Cardi B has since been added to the mix with her hit single "Bodak Yellow" catapulting her to stardom.
Aside from the numerous male rappers who've embraced Cardi, she also received a lot of love from female rappers Remy Ma, and Lil Kim, who both have beef with Nicki Minaj. While many expressed their happiness for Cardi, fans noted that Nicki remained mum and assumed that she was not rooting for the Bronx rapper. They also assumed that the rap stars were throwing disses through verses.
Earlier this month, they quelled those rumors when Cardi tweeted lyrics to Nicki's "Win Again" and Minaj responded that fans were reaching when implying there's beef between the two. Those rumors, however, reignited through lyrics yet again, this time with fans saying that Nicki is dissing Cardi in her verse for "No Flags." Nicki took to Twitter and denied the claims, noting that she wrote the verse a couple months ago.
During the MTV VMAs Sunday night, Cardi was asked about the supposed beef. Cardi says she doesn't want problems with anyone, "I just want to make music and make money."
