In the past, after the Golden State Warriors won the 2017 NBA Finals, they were invited to the White House. The organization declined the invite. Now, Trump has come out and rescinded his invitation to the White House after Curry spoke to ESPN and gave some candid thoughts about going to the White House. Curry said “I don’t wanna go. That’s the nucleus of my belief. It’s not just me going to the White House. If it was, this would be a pretty short conversation. But it’s the organization, it’s the team. It’s hard to say because I don’t know exactly what we’re gonna do.” Trump fired back via his favorite platform— Twitter. He said “Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!”
Now, LeBron James, who has been vocal about Trump in the past, has chimed in with his own comments via Twitter. James went as far as calling Trump a “bum.” James said “U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain’t going! So, therefore, ain’t no invite. Going to the White House was a great honor until you showed up!”
