Musicians such as Trae The Truth and Beyoncé Knowles have long been at the forefront of sending Hurricane aid and relief to the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas. Now, Trae took to Instagram to announce that Beyoncé has donated $75,000 worth of mattresses to citizens in need.
Trae and DJ Mr. Rogers filmed a video of themselves standing behind a mountain of mattresses reportedly sent form Beyoncé and her charitable organizations.
The hip-hop humanitarian made the announcement, giving a shout out and salute to the “Lemonade” singer along with the rest of her family who has been involved in the relief efforts.
“Shout out to Beyoncé, Ivy, BeyGood, Miss Tina, they donated $75,000 worth of mattresses to the city of Houston,” said Trae the Truth. “They partnered with us, the Relief Gang, St. Johns [United Methodist Church].”
“We gotta get these mattresses to the streets and the people that need them, big shout out to them [and] St. Johns United Methodist Church,” DJ Mr. Rogers added. “There’s a lot of people who’s been displaced, lost their homes, but they lost their mattresses. They can’t lay their head anywhere, they can’t sleep but we’ll take care of that as much as we can so shout out to them for making this happen.”
Beyonce has been heavily involved with the Hurricane Harvey relief effort as BeyGOOD teamed up with Bread of Life and Greater Houston Community Foundation. She has recently extended her relief efforts to Puerto Rico as she released a remix of J. Balvin’s “Mi Gente” to raise funds for to aid the victims there and in Mexico.
