Cardi B's ex-boyfriend Tommy Geez has been released from jail. He spent four years behind bars after being arrested on gun possession charges.
While Cardi was a cast member on "Love & Hip Hop: New York," she often talked about her longtime boyfriend, who she was holding down. The two even discussed marriage, but Tommy wanted her to stay home not be out on the town pursuing her career. The Bronx rapper and Harlem native eventually broke up after he became upset that she was becoming too busy to give him attention and keep up the jail visits. She appeared broken-hearted on the show, but since then everything has been up for the "regular, degular, shmegular girl from the Bronx."
Cardi is now dating Offset from The Migos. Her hit-single "Bodak Yellow" hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and after remaining there for a consecutive three weeks, it became the longest-running No. 1 from a solo female rapper in Hot 100 history, surpassing Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)." Cardi also recently signed a publishing deal with SONY/ATV and has been very busy hitting some of the biggest stages around the country.
Cardi previously said that she would always hold Tommy down, but she also discussed that he was not supportive of her rap career. Now that he is out of jail, many are wondering what will happen. Some have pondered if Mona Scott Young will come knocking, offering Tommy a spot on "Love & Hip Hop;" he's also a rapper like his former girlfriend. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
