The Harvey Weinstein scandal has just gotten even bigger. In the last few weeks, the film producer has not only been accused of multiple counts of sexual harassment but he has also been accused of rape by five women. The LAPD confirmed on Thursday that a sixth woman has come forward and they will be investigating the rape allegations
The woman that has come forward is an actress that has stated she was raped by Weinstein back in 2013. The rape falls within California's 10-year statute of limitations so it could possibly lead to a prosecution.
The 38-year old actress sat down with sex-crimes detectives on Thursday and informed them that Weinstein raped her in the bathroom of her Beverly Hills hotel back in 2013 of February after she attended an Italian film, fashion and art festival in Los Angeles.
“When he left, he acted like nothing happened,” the woman said in an interview with The Los Angeles Times. “I barely knew this man. It was the most demeaning thing ever done to me by far. It sickens me still. …He made me feel like an object, like nothing with all his power.”
The LAPD hasn't released much more information but as the story develops, we’ll keep you all posted.
