In what he declared would be his absolute last time addressing his beef concerning the Fast & Furious franchise, Tyrese sought to set the record straight about exactly who he is relative to Dwayne Johnson in series, on Thursday night, November 2. "My story will never change I️ was never DJ’s Co-Star... I’m Shayla’s Father first," the actor/singer captioned a photo that he posted of him, Johnson, and Vin Diesel on Instagram.

It appears that after weeks of back and forth over Johnson agreeing to do a spinoff that would delay the ninth installment of Fast, Ty's relationship with Johnson has gotten way too strained for them to approach one another at this point.

But he did say that he received a call from an associate of the wrestler-turned-action star, although he never went into detail about what may or may not have been hashed out. In the fickle message's closing, the "Black Rose" crooner expressed solace in having director Justin Lin return to bring some of the franchise's original appeal back come Fast's tentative 2020 release.

"Justin Lin is back in the driver seat that’s exciting cause it going to feel like the true #FastFamily all over again..... When we see Justin we see Paul," he wrote.

Although Universal has not officially confirmed the news, Diesel recently announced Lin's return in a Facebook Live video. “You wanted movies nine and 10 to be incredible. We’ve heard your concerns about the saga and where it needs to arrive in its final chapters,” Diesel told followers, after citing Lin - who has directed four of the franchise's eight films - as the "architect" and "forefather of Fast."
