Over the past week, some of Jay-Z's closest friends and business partners have been honoring their main man as he approaches his birthday.

The Brooklyn born music mogul will celebrate his 48th year on Monday, December 4. It's assumed that Hov will spend his born day with his wife, children, and family members who have stuck by him throughout his journey from the Marcy Projects to the Barclay's Center. For those who don't share as intimate of a relationship with him, they used the days leading up to his big day to show their appreciation.

On Saturday, December 2, the Brooklyn Nets got super creative with their homage to the hip-hop icon. Having once been a partial owner of the NBA franchise, many players and executives from the organization were fortunate enough to call the rapper their friend.

Team CEO Brett Yormark, a friend of the rapper, had a pretty impressive cake made for Jay. Among the details etched onto the multi-layered treat are images from past albums and a section dedicated to his '4:44' record.

The cake also features the black-and-white striped paper airplanes that artistic collaborator Vegas Jones designed for his Roc Nation fashion line. Jones shared a picture of the cake on his Instagram page, with a caption that salutes the R.O.C. boss. "The Big Homie done touch down at Nassau Coliseum. Early birthday love from Brett Yormark and the team. Salute King," Jones wrote.
