The Golden State Warriors may have left the New Orleans with a 125-115 victory over the Pelicans on Monday night, December 4, but one body that was sacrificed in exchange for the win may prove detrimental to the defending champions, going forward.
Several players wound up exiting the arena in the game's final minute and a half, but none were for as serious a reason as Steph Curry's reason for leaving the game was. Only moments after teammate Kevin Durant was ejected along with opponent DeMarcus Cousins over a verbal altercation that involved some physical contact, Curry limped off of the court and headed for the locker room on a hobbled ankle. With around a minute left to play in the game's final quarter, Curry's foot rolled over on its side as he attempted to pick the ball from E'Twaun Moore.
According to the most recent reports, Curry was seen leaving the Smoothie King Center with a walking boot and crutches. The good news is that immediate X-Rays came up negative for any sort of lasting injury, but the team will need to keep fingers crossed until they receive the results of an MRI their star point guard is scheduled to undergo on Tuesday.
