Magic Johnson and Isaiah Thomas are not only two of the 50 greatest players to step onto an NBA court, but the two Midwestern natives were the best of friends early in their careers. But after the two faced one another in the 1988 and 1989 NBA Finals their relationship seemed to have deteriorated and completely broke down after Magic revealed he played a pivotal role in keeping Thomas off of the 1992 Dream Team. That move was in response to Isaiah Thomas allegedly spreading rumors of Magic being gay or bisexual.
But time heals all wounds and the two Hall of Famers had a touching reconciliation on NBATV after Magic kept it real with Thomas saying, “Let me apologize to you. If I hurt you. That we haven’t been together.”
