Kaci Sullivan, a 30-year-old business student from Missouri, has given birth to his son Phoenix with husband Steven after having conceived last February while taking a break from male hormone therapy for medical reasons.
After giving birth to son Grayson five years ago before transitioning from female-to-male, Kaci underwent a double mastectomy as he started to transition. Kaci says that son Phoenix was unplanned and after going through another pregnancy while presenting as a woman, he decided to do so as a man.
Having felt every since he was young that he was male, Kaci went through depression and anxiety about his body especially with the first pregnancy as a woman. So this time, he decided to not worry about his controlling the way his body looked and embraced delivering his son as the man he has always felt to be.
Kaci revealed that he enjoyed the second pregnancy a lot more than the first one because “I’ve never lived as a woman, but, because I was presenting that way, that’s what people assumed,” said Sullivan.
Enduring a seven-hour labor, Kaci had the delivery via c-section and expressed that this time he looked more like he wanted to, thus helping him to embrace the process more this time around.
