It turns out that the man used in a popular promo for a pro-Trump dating website is a child sex offender.

Over the past couple of weeks, a web address that directs singles to a site that pools together men and women who share a common support for the President has gone viral. Many of those who've grown familiar with the ads will recall recognizing a man wearing a red "Trump" hat with a woman who sported a pink "Make America Great Again" hat on his shoulder.

"Discover Love, Romance, Friendship on Your Device or Desktop," the Trump.Dating promo read. Nothing appears at all odd about the image, but a background check has revealed that the man used in the original photo was Barrett Riddleberger - and the woman with him is his wife Jodi. The two of them are Tea Party activists from Guilford County, N.C.

Further investigation reveals that Barrett was convicted of a child sex charge in connection with a 1995 incident involving a 15-year-old. The evidence provided in his case included a recording that he filmed of him having sex with the girl when he was 25 years old.

Since headlines began to expose Riddleberger, the couple has been replaced with two fresh faces. Riddleberger has responded to the disgraceful reports by telling a local news station that he's "already paid his debt" for committing the crime.
