Last week, Rosario Dawson confirmed that she was dating Senator Cory Booker while speaking to TMZ reporters, and now the Presidential candidate has for the first time spoken about their romance from his own point of view. Appearing on The Ellen Show, the former Mayor of Newark spoke glowingly about his new girlfriend, while pointing out that he knew pandemonium behind their relationship was inevitable. Additionally, he spoke about how the quality of her character has had a profound effect on him.

"As our relationship grows it's difficult, but she is such a deeply soulful person and has taught me a lot of lessons about love already,'' Booker told DeGeneres. "Sometimes, you show the greatest strength when you make yourself vulnerable."

From there Booker went on to describe what drew him to Dawson, by adding: "She really has this nurturing spirit that has made me more courageous, not just in the love that I project and want to see in our country, but I think in our own personal relationships to love more fearlessly. I’m very, very blessed to be with somebody that makes me a better person."

Meanwhile, with respect to the initial video of TMZ catching up to Dawson at the Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., Booker described the moment as her getting "ambushed" by the media outlet, though he also said that Dawson was in good spirits after getting the opportunity to share their secret with the world. With that said, now that their relationship has been confirmed, it goes without saying that all eyes will be on them both as Booker continues to campaign for the 2020 election.

To hear Booker speak on his romance with Dawson, the conversation starts at 6:15 of the interview.
