The news gets worse for Michael Avenatti, as in addition to a bevy of serious charges he's facing in New York and Los Angeles already, the celebrity attorney has now been charged with ripping off Stormy Daniels.

Avenatti previously rose to fame through his representation of Daniels in her court battles with Donald Trump, yet now federal prosecutors in New York City have accused Avenatti of using a doctored document to divert approximately $300,000 from the former porn star. The $300K was supposed to be paid to Daniels for a book deal, however, Avenatti allegedly used the money for his own personal and business expenses.

Daniels first publicly raised concerns about Avenatti’s representation in November, writing in a statement that “for months I’ve asked Michael Avenatti to give me accounting information about the fund my supporters so generously donated to for my safety and legal defense. He has repeatedly ignored those requests."

Meanwhile, Avenatti has publicly denied the charges against him, consistent with his position on the other two cases that are already underway. All the same, the Los Angeles charges alone carry a potential penalty of more than 300 years in prison.
