According to multiple reports, the NBA is conducting an investigation into whether teams tampered in order to lock-in some of the earlier, marquee free-agent signees. ESPN's Zach Lowe and Brian Windhorst say the investigation began after the NBA Board of Governors meeting was held in Las Vegas earlier this month. Interviews are reportedly going to be conducted with "players and possibly agents and team employees." 

During what was considered a "tense" owners meeting, Michael Jordan, owner of the Charlotte Hornets and labor committee head, presented the idea of changing the rules around free-agency when a new collective bargaining agreement is negotiated. Some other suggestions included teams having the ability to speak with players immediately after the conclusion of the season and allowing free agents to sign with teams before the draft.
