Previously, news surfaced noting Lil Tjay was arrested again, with reports claiming the rapper was booked on a gun charge. However, Tjay’s lawyer Dawn Florio gave an update on the latest arrest, saying it wasn’t due to a gun charge at all.
Florio spoke to AllHipHop, saying, “Lil Tjay was not rearrested for another gun charge. He was excused from appearing in court last Friday by the arraignment judge.” Florio went on to say there was confusion surrounding what Tjay should have been doing in terms of appearing in court. “Another judge revoked his bond and put him back in jail for missing court on Friday even though he was told by the first judge that he did not have [to] appear,” said the lawyer. Along with that, Tjay’s lawyer said, “Lil Tjay’s family posted the bail yesterday, and he is free. It is so unfortunate that he had to be jailed for something that was not his fault.” Stay tuned for more updates.

Lil Tjay was recently arrested for gun possession while on the way to a video shoot for Ice Spice. The rapper was held up at a traffic stop in the Bronx by police, which led to his arrest after the cops allegedly found a handgun in the vehicle he was stopped in. The rapper was released following the arrest, and his attorney claimed he was illegally searched during the arrest. Now, it has been noted the rapper was arrested again for criminal possession of a weapon.
The rapper was arrested on January 26 and was released after being bailed out on January 27 after being held at the Eric M Taylor Center. The 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon charge is a felony, and Tjay is set to appear in court on February 14, 2023. Stay tuned for more updates.
