New York Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire may need to work on more than just his post-up game after he called a fan a "fag" through a direct message on Twitter.

After Stoudemire tweeted that he was done with a workout, a fan responded back to him by saying "@Amareisreal you better come back a lot stronger and quicker to make up for this past season mannnnnn deada***!!!".

For some reason or another, STAT seemed enraged by that response and fired back at the fan (@BFerrelli) with: "F*ck you. I don't have to do any thing fag,".

The fan then tweeted an image of the direct message from Stoudemire, making many people aware of the matter. The Knicks' star later apologized to the fan in the same direct message.

"I apologize for what I said earlier. I just got off the plane and had time to think about it. Sorry bro!! No Excuses. Won't happen again."

Should Amar'e Stoudemire be expecting some type of punishment for his comment?
