Chaos erupted in front of the Empire State Building yesterday morning when a laid-off designer named Jeffrey Johnson, armed with a .45, murdered the man he felt was responsible for him losing his job. When the police arrived on the scene screaming at Johnson to freeze and drop his weapon, Johnson instead raised his gun at police officers and tried to shoot. His gun jammed at that moment and NYPD officers unloaded seventeen shots at him, hitting him with seven. Although Johnson was thwarted, 9 other innocent bystanders were shot during the altercation, all with NYPD bullets.

Apparently, as the cops shot at Johnson and missed more than half the time, two stray bullets hit innocent people. The rest of the rounds ricocheted off of other objects along Fifth Avenue injuring seven more. Expect to see some hefty lawsuits from the people who were struck by police weapons.
