Rap newcomer Kendrick Lamar continues to impress veterans of the Hip-Hop world. Dr. Dre, who is of course his mentor, and Snoop Dogg have already had good things to say about the young emcee. They even went as far as naming him the "New King of the West Coast." Now another well renowned artist feels the same way about Kendrick. Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco presented the West Coast native with the "Next Big Thing" honor as part of Lupe's Outstanding Fan Awards.

Lupe says Lamar was the artist that came to mind when he made his decision. "Out of the many, there's only one guy that I am a fan of that I think deserves this award, so the 'Next Big Thing' award goes to my big homie Kendrick Lamar."

"This the future right here. Unadulterated, uncut, unfiltered...but I ain't go nowhere either," Lupe told the audience at Congress Theater as he prepared to perform a track off of his upcoming album.
