Twitter has been buzzing recently in the battle community as Midwest battle rap vet, Aye Verb, has been talking some serious smack, saying that he plans on starting his "LOWER STATUS THAN VERB BATTLE TOUR."  However, before he even mentioned this, he and Boston spitter Chilla Jones have been sending shots back-and-forth, calling each other out to face off in a battle event sometime this year.

Verb is claiming that Chilla is beneath him and doesn't have the resume of classic battles against quality opponents that Verb has.  Meanwhile, Chilla has basically been saying that Verb shouldn't sleep on him and that he thinks Verb is trying to use his resume as an excuse to talk smack, but not actually have to face him in the battle ring.

It's very early in the year, and if matches such as this one get set up properly and often, then 2013 could be a huge year for battle rap.  Let's see if Verb will actually accept an invitation to battle Chilla Jones.  It would be a shame to see this turn into a Mayweather vs Pacquiao situation: all talk but no action.

See their back-and-forth tweets above.

If they battle, who do you think would win?
