A female guard in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn is facing charges of sexual abuse of a person in custody, after having sex with an inmate previously on death row. The inmate, Ronell Wilson, notoriously killed two undercover police execution-style and received the death penalty for his actions. Wilson convinced his nighttime guard, Nancy Gonzalez, that he needed to leave something behind--in this case, a child.

Ms. Gonzalez' lawyer Anthony Ricco said, "She's had a very tragic life and as this case proceeds, you'll learn more about it and how these affected her judgment. People find love in the strangest places."

Though Wilson is no longer on death row, he will surely never see the light of day. Gonzalez struggled with her decisions, explaining the forbidden affair in a series of recorded phone calls.

"I took a chance because I was so vulnerable and wanted to be loved and now I am carrying his child," she said. "I know what is going to be said about me. I know that for me as a parent, how am I going to explain this to this little boy?"
