New York Jets fans may have something to celebrate next season. They've just confirmed that they've let go of one-time favorite Mark Sanchez to make room for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick for a 1-year deal.

The 5 million dollar move comes as Geno Smith is currently starter for the team. Sanchez was on his way to starting for the 2013-14 season but was injured in the Jets last preseason game last summer. Vick has also had an injury-plagued career, but says he's ready to compete for that starter position, while humbly playing the backup role in the mean time.

"I wouldn't say I would be O.K. sitting on the bench all year, but I know what I signed up for," Vick said as reported by the New York Times. "I signed to compete and be a helping hand to Geno."

How do you feel about this move?
