Did Outkast's big return help Big Boi get a record deal with Epic?

According to the Huffington Post, the rapper was delighted to share the news that he would be working with L.A. Reid once again.

"I just signed a deal with Epic Records," he said. "So I'm back with L.A. Reid and Sylvia Rhone. Got a brand new situation. I signed the deal the day after the first Coachella date, that Saturday."

Big Boi, who was signed to Reid's La Face Records in the past, is ready to work on new solo music for fans this year. He also mentioned that he and Andre 3000 have a lot to work on as well.

"The album I'm not gonna rush," he said. "I wanted to put something out before the end of the year. It depends, because me and Dre got a lot of work to do from now until the end of October. [But] you're definitely going to get some brand new Big Boi material. Two or three singles before the fall."

Big Boi's last two albums, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty and Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors were released through the rapper's Purple Label records and Def Jam.
